The moon has always been one of the most fascinating satellites in our solar system; whether it is due to the many movies that portray the moon in a romantic atmosphere or for its effects on earth. Many scientists tried (and still do) to separate the truth, usually backed up by scientific evidence and myth or legends that are built up by the media. So do not be fooled, not all is true and not all is false.
Scientifically proven, moon affects water
A major effect the moon has on earth is the tides. Tides are created when the earth and moon are attracted to each other. Simply put, just as magnets, the moon tries to pull on everything towards it but the Earth is able to hold back everything except for water. This gravitational attraction causes the water to gotowards the moon.
